Centre for Family Literacy Society of Alberta

45% of adult Albertans do not have the literacy skills to function successfully in today's society. Many of these people are parents and as parents they have a profound influence on the literacy development of their children.

Parents who talk and read with their children from birth provide them with a solid foundation in language and early learning. Family literacy programs are a proactive approach to solving the literacy issue - support parents in supporting their children's learning and the children are better prepared to succeed at school.

Our unique programs support language and learning in a family context and promote parent-child bonding and close family relationships.
