Give To Remember

Donate $20 and a message of hope to help support World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil on December 1, 2017!

Why you should support World AIDS Day?

World AIDS Day is a day where people around the world unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have lost their lives. Currently, 700 people in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent live with HIV, and as many as 300 are unaware of their status. More than 35 million people globally have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history. With the support of the communities, agencies like the AIDS Committee of Windsor can provide support and programming to those currently living with HIV/AIDS.

How can you help?

A donation of $20 will be going towards candles for our annual World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil. Our goal is to be able to provide 100 candles on World AIDS Day. These candles will be carried from our agency’s office to our reception hall. We are also asking that donors provide a message of hope for those affected by HIV/AIDS. This message of hope can be emailed or mailed to our office and will be showcased on World AIDS Day for the entire community to read.

Interested in Participating?

World AIDS Day is an opportunity to show support to and solidarity with the millions of people living with HIV. Wearing a red ribbon is one simple way to do this. Ribbons can be purchased at our office. Another simple way to support this campaign, is to post an #UNselfie, and unselfish selfie! Show your support on social media by posting an #UNselfie and tell your followers how and why you and/or your friends are ‘giving’ this year! Make sure to use the hashtags #GivingTuesdayCA, #UNselfie, and #GivetoRemeber. You can post your #UNselfies on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

World AIDS Day is also a great opportunity to raise money for the AIDS Committee of Windsor and show your support for people living with HIV. If you feel inspired to hold an event, such as a bake sale, or simply sell red ribbons, contact us.
