Coastal Jazz and Blues Society

Coastal Jazz and Blues Society presents renowned international and Canadian artists on a year-round basis, in small, intimate listening settings to offer diverse and innovative music programs for youth and the general public. Aspiring musicians in pre-professional programs from many Lower Mainland school music programs have the opportunity to directly interact and learn through a series of master-classes, workshops, student performances, and talks. The impact is transformative.

Program in need of your support: International and Local Artist Workshop and student concert programs
This new initiative by Coastal Jazz provides Elementary, High School, and University level students throughout the Lower Mainland a workshop with an international artist. As an example, legendary Louis Hayes recently performed for over 1500 students from 9 schools – a unique opportunity to experience one of great legends of the genre. In his week-long residency, Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderly tribute band also did workshops and performances at Capilano University, and two public performances.

Coastal Jazz is seeking your support in order to provide these high value experiences to students at the secondary and post-secondary level. The objective is to provide students throughout the Lower Mainland community with ten or more weeks a year of curated education programs.

You can play your part, and help to support the efforts of Coastal Jazz and Blues Society in its work to ensure the musicians of tomorrow have sustained access to the successful artists of today, as a benefactor of these programs.

How to support Coastal Jazz:
1- Share the news - We live in a social age, one meaning full tweet or post can be shared and reach countless people around the world. But don't worry we're not trying to change the world, we just want to let people know about our programs that help so many students in the Lower Mainland follow their music dreams.

2- Get involved - Have an idea on how to help musical education for young musicians? Give us a call, we'll be happy to hear your ideas and maybe we can work together to implement them.

3- Donate - We know it's hard out there, but think of the benefits these young musicians will receive from your generosity. Because Music Education Makes a Difference.

Witness first-hand the impact and direct results of engagement between aspiring musicians and successful artists, and become a part of the future of music in Canada. Financial support for these activities is critical.
