grunt gallery is an artist-run centre and non-profit gallery located in Vancouver, B.C. We are known for presenting a wide diversity of artists and approaches to art-making; with a special focus on under-represented voices from First Nations, People of Color and Queer communities which are often overlooked by Vancouver’s conventional galleries.
This year we are undertaking some legacy projects that are among our largest public initiatives to date. The Blue Cabin: a floating artist residency will see the restoration of Carole Itter's and the late Al Neil's cabin and its placement on a barge as an artist residency space that will be situated on the foreshore of the waterways of the Lower Mainland. The Mount Pleasant Urban Screen is a largescale outdoor public screen that will showcase media art, video, film, archives and community content local to the neighbourhood of Mount Pleasant.
