Engage and Change

Join us for #GivingTuesday today!
A global day of giving on Tuesday, December 1

As part of Engage & Change, Project Winter Survival is dedicated to providing the homeless and less fortunate with Survival Kits which in turn provide warmth and essential supplies needed for survival on the streets during the winter season, in the GTA. The kits are built and distributed on Saturday, January 16, 2016. We need your help to build these kits, so we have set a $5,000 one day #GivingTuesday goal!

In January of this year over 11,000 requests for these life saving kits were received from agencies that help the homeless. Our goal for January 2016 is to assemble and distribute more than 3000 kits to approximately 175 homeless shelters and social service agencies, which include, The Salvation Army, the Red Cross, Out of the Cold programs, Covenant House, and outreach programs in the Greater Toronto Area. These agencies then distribute the kits to the most vulnerable people who are living on our streets, so no one will freeze.

Last year, more than 27,000 organizations in 68 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours and activities that bring about real change in communities.

By contributing today, you are joining a global movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy.
