FRFA - Feline Rescue Foundation of Alberta

Please help us provide for those so very much in need!

A shelter is critical to our cat rescue work. Once rescued, the cats and kittens need a safe and caring environment to heal and begin to trust in people.

Calgary has been hit hard by the ongoing economic crisis. Unfortunately this has had a severe impact on our grants and donations, which directly affects our ability to take in animals requiring rescue. Our basic budget is $4000.00 each month, which covers rent, utilities and the necessary supplies for the shelter. And it does not include the cost of veterinary care.

This past summer we rescued 36 adults from a dire situation in rural Alberta, including several very pregnant moms who produced an additional 26 kittens shortly after their arrival. It was a very successful, but extremely expensive rescue, and all but one wee kitten survived. Though the healthier and more gentle cats were provided for in foster homes, the difficult cats required emergency housing. Our shelter provides the opportunity these sad and sorry cats so deperately needed.  A huge “thank you” to our dedicated volunteers, who worked tirelessly caring for these bedraggled and bewildered creatures.

Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference, whether it is a one time donation or scheduled monthly giving.  Your support is greatly appreciated - we have the pleasure of seeing its benefits every day.
