Literacy and learning has always been important but having the 9 essential skills needed for success in family, work and community are critical for families, children and adults to reach their life potential. Our world has changed dramatically in the last 50 years. “In the next 100 years we will see 20,000 years of change and growth in technology”. The Canadian economy will demand a highly skilled worker in the labor market due to production jobs being outsourced. Technology and expectations of the present day employee is changing dramatically. (Stephen Joyce) Literacy for Life starts at the early ages and continues to support community members through the life span helping to build the 9 essential skills.
