Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbour or stranger out, standing up for an issue, community or cause that you care about, there are many ways you can give back for GivingTuesday.

  1. Go for a hike and pick up litter along the way.
  2. Put a surprise note or drawing on someone’s desk.
  3. Stop stereotypes. Write a short story that breaks that way of thinking.
  4. Learn about different cultures.
  5. Reach out to a friend impacted by war or other hardship. Be there to listen and support.
  6. Organize a food or warm clothing drive for a local charity. 
  7. Bring popsicles to a park on a hot day and share.
  8. Take a shorter shower to conserve water.
  9. Clean out your closet and donate some items.
  10. Use less plastic and be more conscious about recycling.
  11. Spread awareness about ways to stop global warming.
  12. Donate to a charity.
  13. Donate a few toys you don't use anymore.
  14. Send a letter to a mentor or someone who influences you and tell them how they contributed to the person you are today.
  15. Give up your seat to an elderly, disabled or pregnant person.
  16. Do a chore for someone without them knowing.
  17. Help make dinner.
  18. Your classmate or neighbour may be non verbal but that doesn’t mean they don’t have anything to say. Talk to them and take the time to learn how they communicate.
  19. Tell someone why they are important to you.
  20. Thank the lunchroom staff.
  21. Look around your classroom or playground for kids who are not engaged and invite them to join.
  22. Clean your room without being asked.
  23. Hold the door for someone.
  24. Let someone go ahead of you in line.
  25. Reflect on a cause that matters to you and research how you can volunteer or advocate.
  26. Read a book to a Kindergartener.
  27. Sit with someone new at lunch.
  28. Write kind messages in chalk in your neighborhood.
  29. Create a little free pantry in your neighborhood.
