Quick and Easy Ideas for Communities

Together We (Canadian Hearts)

You’re already a champion for your city or community and now is the time to rally the troops! Here are some quick ideas you can share with local organizations, but no need to stop here – get creative!

It’s time to get the word out about #GivingTuesdayNow. Activate your social media and make sure to POST-LIKE-SHARE as much #GivingTuesdayNow content as possible. Use these assets to help spread the word! Don’t forget to use #GivingTuesdayNow, #GivingTuesdayCa, and #MardiJeDonneMaintenant.

Sidewalk Chalk Designs (great for kids and wannabe kids alike!): Create messages about world unity, thanking frontline workers, or giving love to your city/town. You can do this any time the week before (to avoid rain or maybe even snow – yikes!) so you have your photos ready! Sharing your photos on May 5th is the most important thing and don’t forget to use #GivingTuesdayNow, #GivingTuesdayCa, and #MardiJeDonneMaintenant.

Hearts in Windows: In the weeks and days leading up to #GivingTuesdayNow, reach out to your local community to show you’re with them. Print, draw, or paint the #GivingTuesday heart somewhere that your neighbours can see. Get creative and get your whole family involved. The goal is to share the message that you’re standing with them. Share your photos on social media and don’t forget to use #GivingTuesdayNow, #GivingTuesdayCa, and #MardiJeDonneMaintenant. Download the #GivingTuesdayNow heart here!

Sharing Stories of Good: Write your favourite “Together we” message on social media with a short explanation of what you’re doing to help your community on May 5, and show others how to give together even when we’re apart. Then, pin your story or act of generosity on the global giving map, activate your network to do the same, and mostly important share your photos online!
