Thanks Canada, for inspiring a world where generosity is the norm!

On December 3rd 2019, millions of Canadians celebrated GivingTuesday, the global day dedicated to generosity!

Canadians from coast to coast to coast rallied together to “do good stuff” such as donating, volunteering, fundraising, or spreading the word about a cause they love. Now celebrating 7 years in Canada, GivingTuesday had another record-breaking year. Kick-starting the holiday giving season for Canadians and people around the world, GivingTuesday was celebrated in Canada by over 7,000 partners and millions of Canadians who chose to support their favourite cause.

Generosity continues to grow!

Once again, GivingTuesday saw significant increases in donations with $21.9 million raised online in Canada on the day.

We can count the dollars, but we simply can't quantify all of the kindness and generosity that happened on December 3. From socks and book drives to lunches in the street and toys for homeless pets, millions of Canadians showed their support for the causes they care about.

Community movements are leading the way!

43 local movements across Canada rallied together to celebrate GivingTuesday in their own communities. Each movement involved schools, businesses, charities, and everyday Canadians wanting to make a difference for the causes they care about. Once again mayors, premiers and leaders in these movements, declared December 3rd to be officially GivingTuesday in provinces, cities and towns from coast to coast.
