Giving Tuesday Canada South

Essex Region Conservation Foundation

On #GivingTuesday, you have the opportunity to help preserve the stories of our past by helping to bring the Heritage Centre Home at the John R. Park Homestead.
Museums and conservation areas educate, inform and delight.  They preserve our history and welcome us with stories told in their natural settings.  A visit to the John R. Park Homestead Conservation Area takes you back in time to the 1850s, where the original house and farm buildings of John and Amelia Park have been restored to bring the 19th century to life.
The new Heritage Centre is well underway with plans to open in March 2021. Thanks to dozens of generous supporters like you, $1,079,000 of the original $1.2 million fundraising goal has been raised. But, we still have to raise over $120,000 to bring this important accessible educational building to life.
You have a chance to make a huge difference by contributing to build a modern, environmentally friendly Heritage Centre with educational and exhibit space, accessible and adequate washroom facilities, and a significantly enhanced visitor and student facility. This new cultural space will improve the overall educational and visitor experience, create a tourism gateway and important facilities to complement the region’s growing cycling infrastructure.
And for one day only, you can DOUBLE your gift, thanks to the generousity of the Heritage Centre's designers, Architecttura!  For every dollar you give, they will donate another dollar, up to $2,500!  Can you imagine how many kids your generous support will impact, and how many more generations will be able to learn about life in the 1800s - thanks to you?
Please, make a difference and support the new Heritage Centre at the john R. Park Homestead, to ensure our history is preserved for the future, and that kids will have the opportunity to continue to learn about our region's heritage.
