Hospice PEI

This Giving Tuesday, Hospice PEI is asking for your help.
Hospice PEI volunteers provide companionship and comfort to Islanders living with a life-limiting or palliative diagnosis, while providing respite for their caregivers and loved ones. Our volunteers can be found in the hospital, in long term care facilities, in palliative care settings, as well as in the home. As a charity organization that provides free services and resources, we rely solely on the generosity of others to ensure Islanders and their loved ones are supported during and after death.  Every dollar raised or donated stays in our community and makes a significant impact to the residents of Prince Edward Island.
During these unprecedented times, there is now more than ever a need to train more volunteers to help Islanders and their families who seek the support of Hospice PEI services.
We estimate that it costs $86 per volunteer to give our volunteers the hands-on tools to provide hospice services safely and with confidence. This amount covers the cost of a training manual, a volunteer handbook, and a smock, as well as the new additional pandemic related costs of providing the volunteer with a face mask and hand sanitizer to use in the community. We continue to provide services, even during a pandemic.
Please consider making a donation to Hospice PEI this Giving Tuesday to help support the training of one new Hospice PEI volunteer as or organization relies 100% on donations from the community to provide our services.
We need your help. We are all in this together.
