The Shoebox Project will be having a "Shoebox Party" to create and donate Shoeboxes to First Nations, Aboriginal and Inuit Women in Canada
We invite community members to join us at the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) 215 Spadina Ave, room: Innovation Lab from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 28th.
We encourage community members to bring their own (new and unopened) items such as: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lipstick, lip gloss, lip-chap, eye-shadow, mascara, eyeliner, hats, mitts, scarf, chocolate, make-up bag, make-up brushes, necklaces or other jewelry.
If you happen to have an old shoe box laying around the house – bring that too. If you’re unable to bring a shoe box or items, we could still use your help assembling or wrapping the Shoeboxes!
Our goal is to donate as many Shoeboxes as we can to women who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, to enhance their self-esteem and reduce feelings of isolation. If you are unable attend, you are welcome to donate financially to The Shoebox Project’s Aboriginal Fund. Please indicate this in your donation by quoting “Aboriginal Fund.”
