Vancouver Island Mental Health Society

Vancouver Island Mental Health Society (VIMHS) is proud to be part of MID ISLAND GIVES, a civic movement that is dedicated toward raising awareness about the incredible work non-profits and charitable organizations are doing in our community! #islandersgivemore

VIMHS provides housing and rehabilitation for adults experiencing mental illness, addictions, and homelessness on Vancouver Island. We are proud to be celebrating our 40th anniversary!

Your donations and gifts go help support our programs and services:

  • Our programs: VIMHS provides transitional housing for persons recovering from psychiatric illness; we provide permanent housing for vulnerable persons or those at risk of homelessness; we provide education and promote awareness about the realities of living with a mental illness and/or an addiction.

  • Services: opportunities for community engagement and learning: social integration is an important part of psychosocial rehabilitation. Providing residents with unique opportunities to engage with their community and try new things builds confidence and greatly increases the chances of a successful and lasting recovery.

  • Community education: VIMHS offers speaking engagements, workshops, and training to the general public to raise awareness about the realities of living with mental illness and/or addiction; our goal is to reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses.
