Alberta Abilities Lodges Society

We are distributing placemats with our message in 15 participating restaurants on Tuesday Dec. 3, to promote our society and our goals. This is a rural/urban initiative involving Edmonton, Drayton Valley, Leduc, Sherwood Park, and Stony Plain. We host year round outdoor events for citizens with a disability, seniors, and other marginalized groups to enjoy our outdoor heritage. Everyone needs nature. Our programs improve medical, recreational, and emotional quality of life for those with disabilities. We also sell a book "Don't worry, Mom, I'll be home for Christmas" written by Daniel E. Wein and his family. This is a non-fiction book, written as a diary, recording Dan's motorcycle trip from Vancouver to Chile. The trip ended with a devastating accident in Colombia. The book has over 100 photographs and sells for $40.
