BC Epilepsy Society

This year, the BC Epilepsy Society will be participating in #GivingTuesday. As you may already be aware, epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions; however, it receives the least funding and has the least recognition in society.
For over 60 years now, since 1959, the BC Epilepsy Society has been providing much-needed information, advocacy and support to the over 50,000 people living with epilepsy in BC and their families. Our professional staff offer a wide range of services to assist with answers to questions and practical solutions to challenges people with epilepsy may face.

Some examples of our services include: support and outreach for people living with epilepsy located in communities across the province and their families, friends and loved ones; our Partners in Teaching program providing essential seizure first aid and safety training to schools, workplaces, and other organizations across the province; clinic Support Services at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre to provide onsite in-person counselling, information, and services to people living with epilepsy and their families; in-person and online support groups for people living with epilepsy throughout the province; a robust website with resources reviewed by our Professional Advisory Committee (PAC); our media projects, including our Voice Epilepsy™ podcast series and our Epilepsy Expert Webinar Series; and our international I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ campaign that educates the public about epilepsy to increase awareness of epilepsy and decrease stigma associated with epilepsy and much more!

Do your part this year and support the BC Epilepsy Society for #GivingTuesday. Help us to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy and their families! Please visit www.bcepilepsy.com to find out more about what we do in the community.
