Giving Tuesday Waterloo Region

Early in March, Cambridge Mask Makers began as an idea of Cambridge ON resident, Carol Thorman. In less than a month, it grew from a handful of volunteers to over 500 sewers, more than 50 drivers, 20 mask kit assemblers and cutters, and over 1000 followers on our Facebook group. Our mission is simpleā€”to provide hand-sewn, cloth masks using a pattern and process that has been sanctioned and approved by Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) for all patients, visitors and support staff, enabling the hospital to preserve their supply of PPE for the frontline medical staff. The funds collected from this campaign are 100% spent on purchasing supplies of fabric, elastic, thread and ties to create ready-made mask kits for our volunteer community sewers. Each kit contains enough supplies to make 24 masks, and each mask contains approx. $1 worth of supplies. So far, we have delivered 22,200 masks to CMH! Our goal is to reach 30,000. Help us do it by May 5th, Giving Tuesday!
