Canadian Blood Services

Make a gift that has a lifesaving impact for Canadians like Charles.

Giving Tuesday is so much more than a special awareness day, it's an opportunity for all Canadians who want to make a difference in their community to give back to those that need it most—people like Charles.

Charles was just six months old when he was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease—a genetic condition that requires him to receive red blood cell replacements every six weeks. Now, as a 28-year-old, Charles could not be more grateful for those that keep him alive and well.

How do you #GiveLife?
When you make a gift to Canadian Blood Services, there are so many different ways you can support the Canadian patients we serve. Whether you donate money, give blood, volunteer, or support any of our other programs, you'll be joining a community of individuals who are committed to improving the lives of Canadians and their families.

As a registered Canadian Charity, financial gifts to Canadian Blood Services save lives. Your financial donation will help patients by strengthening programs and initiatives in four focus areas: blood, stem cells, organs and tissues and research and innovation. It's so easy to donate online, or to set up your own fundraising event page.

You have the power to #GiveLIfe. At Canadian Blood Services, we're responsible for recruiting and collecting blood, plasma and platelets at 36 permanent collection sites and more than 14,000 donor clinics every year. Book an appointment at your community blood clinic and join your local Giving Tuesday movement.

Are you between the ages of 17 and 35? The OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network is responsible for finding and matching volunteer donors to patients who require stem cell transplants.  It's easy to register online and you'll be joining an international network of registries that allow us to search from 23 million donors in more than 70 registries in other countries when a Canadian patient needs a match.

Do you like meeting new people and giving back to your community? As a volunteer with Canadian Blood Services your gift of time will help us continue to do our lifesaving work. There are many different roles and you'll be given the opportunity to volunteer in an area that matches your skills and expertise.

On Giving Tuesday, make donation part of your legacy plan.Your choice to become an organ donor could provide a future not otherwise possible for patients and their families. How you register or declare your intention to donate organs, eyes and tissues is different from province to province—choose your location and learn more about the process where you live.
