Central Alberta Gives

Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division

This year for GivingTuesday the Canadian Mental Health Association in Alberta focusing on raising awareness and support for implementing our Living Life to the Full program across Alberta.

Living Life to the Full that teaches people in Alberta, old and young how to deal with their feelings when fed up, worried or hopeless.

One in five Albertans will experience a mental health concern over their lifetime, and nearly every person will be affected by mental illness indirectly through friends, family and/or coworkers. Too many Albertans seeking mental health diagnosis and treatment are falling through the cracks – at tremendous economic and human cost. But, it doesn’t have to be this way.

CMHA in Alberta has a solution to these staggering numbers; a program called Living Life to the Full. Living Life to the Full is an evidence-based therapy approach based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and it shows how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours work together—and how you can take charge of your well-being. The courses are designed to help participants identify problem areas and give them the tools and skills to make changes. Not necessarily big changes, but changes that will last because participants learn what works for them through the courses.

By January 2016, we plan to have 27 trained facilitators teaching Living Life to the Full programming across eight regions in Alberta! We rely on your generosity to help us make this a reality. With your help, we will be able to provide support to people in their communities, when they need it. Please donate today.
