Canadian/American Spinal Research Organization

The CSRO is dedicated to the funding of targeted research to maximize functional recovery and cure paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.  We envision a world without paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.

For GivingTuesday we are asking our supporters to consider the impact of secondary complications on the daily life of a person with a spinal cord injury. While it may not be immediately obvious to an outside observer, the impact of continued paralysis on the body over time creates dangerous and sometimes deadly complications relating to consistent neurogenic bowel and bladder issues, sepsis caused by pressure sores, respiratory risk or failure from longterm ventilator dependence, and depression and substance abuse which can lead to increased risk of suicide.

This GivingTuesday we are bringing these issues to the forefront to underscore the urgent need for continued cure research into spinal cord injury, so that we can begin to alleviate these chronic and dangerous conditions.
