Central Nova Women's Resource Centre

Help us reach our goal of $15,000, so no young girl in Central Nova Scotia gets excluded from attending summer day camp due to financial constraints. Central Nova Women's Resource Centre (CNWRC) has been offering young girls in Colchester County the opportunity to learn, laugh and grow together since 2002, and it believes every girl should have the opportunity to attend summer camp regardless of her socio-economic status. Girl Power Camps are an excellent opportunity to empower the future by teaching our young friends positive ways to deal with the issues of being a girl in today's society. Some of our former camp attendees are now teachers, and this year's camp counsellor, also a former camp attendee, is in her last year of the Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation at Dalhousie University. Help us raise strong women one girl at a time.

Here's what some of the girls have to say about Girl Power in their own words:

“A fantastic chance to learn self-confidence and meet other girls and learn about the history of women.”
“Girl power is a grate place for girls to be thar selfs. and spend time with friends. J
“A camp for girls to come and learn about how equal and powerful we are and were, also to have fun.”
