Maputsoe is a tough place to grow up! It is one of the poorest places on earth. Poverty and disease has decimated entire generations of Basotho people, leaving tens of thousands of children orphaned and struggling to survive.

Rachel's Home is a tiny orphanage, a place of refuge for these children. At Rachel's Home, these children are welcomed into a new family. They are provided with food, shelter, love and care. They receive a proper education and a chance at building a real future for themselves. This shelter, run on a shoestring budget, by a local couple, has an amazing track-record. Five of its students have gone on to post-secondary education and all of its high school graduates have gone on to find stable employment. In Lesotho and South Africa, that's pretty amazing stuff.

Central has been part of this for more than a decade and as part of our support, we try to make sure that these children have a special Christmas too.

Your support will help us provide a special meal for the orphanage and help us make sure that each child receives a new outfit to wear. Yes, there won't be a pile of toys under a tree, but even this will help make Christmas a special day for a young child.
