Diefenbunker, Canada's Cold War Museum

Donors make us tick. Together, we’ve created one of the most unique museums in the country. Thank you.

Because of our donors, this year 3000 young people have played and learned in our new community room. Immersive touch tables, handling artefacts, and a retrofitted vintage television (playing “duck and cover” videos) teach younger generations about growing up during the Cold War. Like many of you, at times digital devices can rule our homes; the community room is an antidote to that by teaching about a critical part of our collective history through experiential, hands-on learning.

Families experiencing history together – that’s what the Diefenbunker is about.

Our staff and volunteers continue to educate young people about the realities of the Cold War through our award-winning educational workshops like Youth Conflict Resolution and our new program called Dash for Survival, where participants jump into team-building activities using clues and artefacts to explore the entire museum, our own Cold War Amazing Race.

For Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support our Year-End Campaign. Our goal is to create a dedicated Youth Room for the over 3,000 young people that take part in programs, workshops, as well as playful activities like Spy Camp and our spy-themed birthday parties. Our goal is to raise $20,000 and we can’t do it without your help.

Together, let’s make this possible.

Would you be willing to make a Giving Tuesday donation for $25, $50, or $100 to support our youth programming?

With your gift, we can invest in our youth, preserve this significant part of our Canadian history, and create a new generation of life-long learners and future leaders.

Thank you!
