Central Alberta Gives

Legacy Land Trust Society

GivingTuesday (November 27, 2018) is a rapidly growing global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  Just six years young, the day has come to represent the “Opening day of the giving season”. It’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the giving community comes together for GivingTuesday.
You can become part of this amazing movement of empowerment and awareness-building for Legacy Land Trust Society.  Help Legacy make a difference in your world. Central Alberta has beautiful landscapes, and agriculturally and environmentally significant lands that are worth protecting for future generations. For the last five years, Legacy has been a piece in this complex puzzle.
Our focus for GivingTuesday 2018 is the protection of lands that provide habitat for the majestic Great Grey Owl. This Northern Phantom can be seen year-round perched on fences alongside roads, or swooping through the dense coniferous forest of the west country. By length, it is the largest owl in the world – right here in Alberta! Something definitely worth protecting. But these magnificent birds need their forest habitat to survive. This is where Legacy comes in. We help protect these landscapes.
Whoooo do you love? Great Grey owls? Significant landscapes? On GivingTuesday, become part of something bigger and help us reach our goal of $1000!
