Milton Transitional Housing

We are creating a campaign of awareness. Milton is often thought of as an affluent community but the reality is that 15% of Milton residents are living with an annual household income of $40,000 or less. In a community with a low vacant rental rate, this low income means more and more people in our community are at risk of developing a housing issue. Transitional housing spans the gap between crisis housing offered by shelters and long-term stable housing in the community. Transitional housing is offered on a case-by-case basis from 4-24 months, while clients work to rebuild their lives and move on. A key element is to counsel clients in meeting short-term and long-term goals, leading gradually to independence and a return to a stable home situation.
