Parents for Community Living -KW

Parents for Community Living - KW (PCL) plays an important role in the lives of people with developmental disabilities in the Waterloo Region and for their families. We currently operate 11 homes that offer various forms of support, from independent living to 24 hour enhanced living support for children and adults. PCL supports 40 adults permanently and has 8 respite beds (which will support about 40 families). We also support 7 children and have 4 respite beds (which support approx. 20 families locally). Parents for Community Living also offers several community supports: Core/Dream Club: A day program that operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Participants enjoy a full day of sports, arts and crafts, music, brain and sensory activities as well as cultural outings. PCL supports over 32 adults with this program. Computer Apprenticeship Program: Provides developmentally disabled youth between the ages of 17 and 24 with computer skills training which will enhance their ability to live and work independently within the community.
