Red Deer Symphony Orchestra Association

The most profound aspect of music is how it makes us feel— can you imagine a life without music? When you think of people, humanity and history, you think of the arts. The arts identify who we are as a people. It’s our responsibility to take care of our own, to take care of the future, so we can set the example of what needs to be done when we’re not here. It’s our time to make a difference and with all of the strength that we have whether it be financial or time, but the fact is this is the time.”
~Zuill Bailey, cellist

In the Chinese culture, red, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. A red envelope is a monetary gift which is given in Chinese society during holiday or special occasions. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck.
To be 'in the red' is to be in debt. The expression 'in the red' derives from the practice of using red ink to denote debt or losses on financial balance sheets.
With your gift and a little luck, the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra is moving out of the red so that future generations can enjoy world-class artistry right here in central Alberta.
