The Salvation Army

We are providing an opportunity to the people of Nanaimo to sign-up and volunteer for the 2017 Christmas Kettle Campaign that last year brought in almost $250,000. More than 750 volunteers in the Nanaimo Ladysmith area stepped up to make this happen. The money raised during the Campaign stays locally and supports The New Hope Centre that in 2016 provided 8,800 emergency shelter beds for homeless men or those at risk of homelessness; 78,000 hot, nutritious meals, emergency food hampers; valuable programs available through our family services and more. Many of our volunteers sign up annually because that's just what they do at this time of year. Our Campaign takes place from November 23 to December 23 at 26 locations from north Nanaimo to Ladysmith. There is also an opportunity to attend the Kettle Campaign Kick-of Luncheon on November 22 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo starting at 11:30 a.m., featuring internationally-recognized speaker Peter Legge, O.B.C. Tickets are $45. Call Dawne Anderson at The Salvation Army at 250-740-1004 to sign up to volunteer and to attend the luncheon. By supporting our Campaign and Luncheon, you'll by helping others.
