The situation for elephants in Thailand is dire.

As tourism has come to a standstill, venue owners are struggling to feed and care for their elephants. This is magnified by it being the hottest, driest period of the year in Thailand, which means food is scarce for elephants as the forest's supply of natural foliage is completely depleted. For that reason, a generous donor has stepped up and agreed to match donations to help them.*

Elephants in captivity have already gone through enough, being prisoners in the logging and entertainment industries. Now through no fault of their own they are at risk of starvation.

This May 5th for Giving Tuesday we hope you will donate to keep them fed and healthy.

These gentle giants need food and supplements now and you can ensure they get them by donating today, while your gift can be matched. This means your gift of $24 will become $48, which could feed one elephant for two days, while a donation of $48 doubles to make $96, so that you can provide supplements for an elderly elephant for two weeks.

Currently we have identified six high welfare venues in need. We plan on helping them by providing food and supplements to their 60 elephants.

One of the high welfare elephant venues that we will be helping at this time by providing food and supplements to their elephants, is Following Giants. They just recently transitioned to our elephant-friendly model, but are now struggling because of the global crisis.

“These elephants depend on us. It would be heart-breaking to accept that this global crisis could sacrifice the new-found freedom the elephants are experiencing.”  David Owen, Elephant Venue Project Manager for Following Giants
Their elephants now depend on the generosity of people like you.

Amidst this global crisis you can make sure elephants are not forgotten. Please donate today.

*Donations will be matched up to $40,000 to help feed starving elephants and ensure the most urgent needs of animals are met.
